My legal troubles have miraculously cleared up. My OJ-caliber legal team has saved my ass once again. Unfortunatley at this time I'm not allowed to talk about the case, but you can read about it in Spin (March) or Wired (April). Unfortunately, the settlement decrees I have to change the title to "Bill Gates Could Die." That or, "May Die." The SF Weekly mentioned the case today.

I've changed my holiday plans, I'm going home to Maryland to stay with my parents for a few weeks. This website is getting a tremendous amount of traffic, we're looking into a relay site. I get about 70-80 emails a day now. Some wonderful person has just given me a Linux server. WinInfo ran the story earlier today.

Thanks for everyone's support via email and voicemail. I'm not using my phones right now so I'll be in touch soon as soon as I can. Unfortunately, someone calls me a couple of times a day and plays Big Band music into the receiver until my voicemail's full; please try to call me back if you can't leave a message. I'm trying to keep on lid on my paranoia, though all of the stories people have sent me regarding their own struggles with Microsoft isn't helping! Now for some good news: my server is more stable, we still haven't seen another letter from MS, and I have a pro bono lawyer.

I will not run from some stupid all-powerful multi-national! Well, maybe I'll go back to Maryland to stay with my mom for a bit. The story made the Seattle Rocket and SF Weekly today, I can't wait till it fades away...

The San Francisco Chronicle wrote a feature about the case here. The story's author, Greg Heller, has family ties to Microsoft. He has not denied this (more on this later).Check out the scary letter below. I've been getting a lot of hangups and mysterious calls from the 425 area code (Redmond, WA). I've recorded a few of them, this one's especially creepy:
